Born in New York and having studied in London, Tom Sachs is one of the most original contemporary artists doing it. After working at Barney’s in the 90′s and developing signature style involving branding and consumerism, Sachs began to develop quite a following after numerous well received shows in New York and overseas. Most recently, he’s released two very different collaborations.
Tom linked up with Krink Markers for a special edition, three color set. Featuring red, black and white markers, each were custom made to Tom Sachs’ liking with brand new marker tips and inks that are unique to the market. The red marker features a “Slow Drip Formula” that’s never before been seen.
Another recent Tom Sachs piece is the “Stanley Kubrick Is Dead” tape measure, limited to 100 pieces. The 25′ device, sold for 250 euros, is hand engraved by Sachs himself and features a trompe l’oeil sticker that replicates his own.
